for the first few of months of being engaged, most discussions revolve around the dress, the shoes, the cake and the flowers.  but… the handsome groom deserves to look his best, too.

desperate for help with his upcoming nuptials, lucky penny called on the famed tailor to all bay street suits, p. elliot custom clothiers.

elliot falovitch, with a suitcase full of dapper sartorial elegance, will personally consult on fabrics for shirts, jackets and suits… all custom fitted and monogrammed.

the groom-to-be selected a classic, satin lapel 007 tux with a deep oxblood lining and matching black vest… as well as a soft gold pocket square, made-to-match the bride’s shoesies, of course.

lucky penny is ready for the *ultimate* wedding planning weekend. she has it on good authority that there is only *one* place to be for *two* days.

at the carlu from january 14-16th, the wedding show features 125 hand-selected vendors… imagine the *absolute* finest photographers, decorators, florists, dress shops and planners to help lucky penny and her lovely bride plan the most luxurious wedding. originally founded by catherine lash of the wedding co., this annual event creates a community that links brides with each other and event professionals.

this year, the crane chandelier project will celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary. 10,000 origami cranes each bearing the name and date of an engaged or married couple will be fashioned into a giant centerpiece… a creative representation of the special bond all brides share.

oh, and don’t forget about the cake! city-wide bakeries will be offering delicious samples… red velvet, chocolate ganache and tahitian vanilla, oh my! with such a difficult task at hand, lucky penny must sample them all. it’s her job, natch.

lucky penny has a soft spot for any fairytale that ends with happily ever after.

once upon a time, boy meets girl at business school. they secretly date, fall in love, and get engaged in niagara falls.

wanting to be married downtown, the couple felt completely overwhelmed. in an mba geek out sesh, they created “the mother of excel spreadsheets” comparing every venue according to price, menu, open bar hours, hotel room rates, etc.

church? check!

the bride used to sing in the children’s choir at timothy eaton memorial church. the groom’s uncle will officiate, and the bride’s uncle will play the organ.

reception? check!

one king west, rich in history, has been transformed from its original td banking hall. when the sun sets, light floods into towering cathedral windows casting the room full of chandeliers and gold marble aglow. no detail has been spared. the bar (longest in canada) was modeled after the original teller windows.

how *very* appropriate that two business degrees would get hitched in a bank.

lucky penny, after a lovely christmas (and perhaps *one too many* boxing day sales), is back to planning a wedding. today, her focus is on all things dessert… a sweet occasion deserves equally sweet treats.

lucky penny has been home sick with the flu… and with nothing to do, but eat chicken noodle soup, she found a *new* hobby.

move over facebook, twitter and foursquare… spotted on pinterest, a social catalog to collect and share things she loves, are these precious wedding cake toppers by lace & rubbish. each one is uniquely handmade, and makes the perfect keepsake for the newlyweds.

lucky penny is pinterest-obsessed. she could spend hours and hours and hours on it… with juicy inspiration boards full of ideas for her pup, home, closet, jewel box… and stomach.
