lucky penny is shaking up her beauty bag… these lazy, hazy days are the perfect time for something daring and bold.

in the past, lucky penny has kept her nails simple and glitter-free… fear not, bright opaques and french manicures will be back *just in time* for the film festival circuit.

until then, she will try as many shades of deborah lippmann‘s fun and flirty polishes as possible. her lacquer line features designer collaborations with the likes of zac posen and rodarte, and few a-list celebs.

lucky penny adores the music-inspired shades like bad romance‘s fuchsia glitter, or a little boom boom pow gold shimmer will be *totally awesome* for the ’80s artbound party in september.

lucky penny was stuck inside a department store waiting out the thunderstorm… and conveniently left her umbrella at home. ugh.

with her nose pressed up against the window, the rain was not going to let up anytime soon. so… she took a step back and much to her surprise, she was standing next to the kiehl’s counter.

her eyes glanced over to the lazy susan full of lip glosses… lined in rows like spices. she picked up kiehl’s lip gloss in “golden berry”, the brightest shade of strawberry (smells like the fruit, too)… and also lucky number 13 in the collection.

it is now her obsession du jour.

lucky penny really needs to go grocery shopping. her fridge just has a bottle of ketchup, apple rotting beyond recognition, chocolate… and booze. *cheers and applause*

iphone grocery list in one hand, and basket in the other… next to a pint of mint chip, raisin bread and bananas is a pile of pretty little things… all things beauty, that is.

in august, joe fresh style is launching a *new* collection of fresh glasses… with a soft mint flavour, and 12 fantastic shades (like kissable, naked, pomegranate and spice). perfect present for a girlfriend who may be feeling blue… and needing of something berry to cheer her up.

these glosses will complement their already *superb* range of cosmetics and tools… nail polishes, lipsticks, eye shadows, brow powders, mascara, eyeliners, cheek tint, bronzer, concealer, foundations, blushes, pressed powder, assorted brushes, and a line of bath products… aaaaand not at highway robbery prices!!!

lucky penny has spring fever… parka is at the dry cleaners. sorels are nicely stowed away in her closet’s back corner.

last friday, she had lunch on the patio at the rivoli with a dear friend and her new baby girl… then, rooftop drinks with cute boyfriend at adelaide street pub.

this time of year is about dusting off her spring wardrobe, and donating old winter clothes to charity. drawers can close, again. extra hangers are now free for more indulgences, which she will most likely regret later.

but let’s not speak too soon, some unmentionables also spent the chilly months tucked away… legs, pegs, gams, stems. oh my!

frigid temps [insert horribly negative number here] can be tough on them, and lucky penny refuses to take chances. she knows it is best to stick to the basics, just like grandma would say.

palmer’s cocoa butter formula is a lifesaver. the cream smooths and tones her sensitive skin… subtle scent of chocolate is a bonus! lucky penny’s sister, when she was expecting, also swears by it.
