lucky penny gets teased a lot about the contents (er, lack there of) in her fridge… chocolate, früli, and maybe some leftovers—on a good week. but can you really blame her when there are so many *new* restos opening in her fair city?

a few weeks ago, bestie’s boyfriend was in from out of town, so resos were booked at l’ouvrier kitchen bar… the pink table, of course. having nursed a hangover (prolly plural) over their delish brunch menu, it was time to see how dinner matched up.

cocktails: manhattans for the girls, and a duggans brew for cute boyfriend.

starters: steak tartare and a macintosh apple, baby rocket salad to share. so far, so good.

mains: butternut squash ravioli, leg of rabbit and wellington county beef burger with fries.

portions were the perfect size, but the standout item was the fries. glorious, glorious frites. bestie boyfriend pro tip: mix the kozlik’s, mayo and ketchup for legit awesomesauce.

lucky penny is a city girl. her idea of camping, er, queuing, does not include a tent or wildlife… but rather a survival kit of flat shoes, sharp elbows and her bestie in tow.

cathy belzberg jetsets around le globe in search of the most coveted baubles (new and vintage)… bib necklaces made lucky penny’s heart skip a beat… just like the one jenny humphrey wore to her cotillion!

lucky penny bought two pavé diamond and gold necklaces with love written in lowercase script for her mom and sister, and a block caps love ring for her bestie. her lovely ladies deserve affection any day of the year.

lucky penny has les ennuies this morning. so major! she wants nothing more than breakfast in bed, or a close second… brunch with her bestie.

over a hot cup of joe from ella’s uncle on dundas west… they need not say a word before their first sip. silence amongst best friends is bliss. (and so is the slice of banana bread in a doggie bag for later.)

then across the street for brekkie at saving grace… huddled at the window table… two forks and a heavenly plate of french toast with carmelized bananas… let’s gossip about lucky penny’s arch-nemesis.

she is blonde (fugly at best. sorry to say!), can hardly spell (or even use proper grammar) on twitter… and is dating lucky penny’s ex!!! arch-nemesis even told her friends to block @luckypennydaily.

seriously, wtf… is this high school? cruel intentions indeed. the girls can barely contain their laughter.

now onto more important matters… like the suit(s) who totally wanted to shag her bestie last night, already failing resolutions (so much for that detox), and lucky penny’s gorge new louboutins.
