it was inevitable, after a slew of weddings two years ago, that a rush of baby showers would follow suit. our girl is now on the lookout for unique pressies that will make *new* mommy and daddy’s eyes light up.

she recently visited her dear lovely’s little guy, and knew that a onesie would simply not do. lucky penny went straight to mini mioche, and got him a pair of frye harness booties, just like mama.

these soft leather booties are modeled after the original, right down to the brass ring details, but have velcro to make it easier to get on and off tiny feet. they also come in plum and pink for wee biker chicks.

lucky penny is stockpiling gifts for her darling cousin’s baby bump. girl or boy? who cares? any excuse to shop.

mini mioche is a cute, chic collection crafted from organic cotton and 100% made in canada. frustrated with trying to find basics for her own little girl, alyssa kerbel (fashion sales agency vet) founded her company simply out of necessity.

every piece is perfect for the mom who shudders at the thought of her kid in pink polka dots. lucky penny picked out a soft cardi in teal, crew-neck shirt in vintage plum, and leggings in heather grey. her only regret: the line isn’t available in big people sizes.

lucky penny has found herself in some unfamiliar territory, and likes what she sees… shopping for a baby. [tick, tick, tick goes her biological clock.]

her cousin, who is expecting her first, is also being quite stubborn and refuses to find out if lucky penny is to shop for all things pink or blue... or green?

no matter, she still managed to find the most lovely gift for the little one’s stocking this year.

happy blankie makes the plushest baby blankets around town. founded by david holdridge (when he was 7 years old), the company’s mission statement is “one to love, one to give”. so for every blanket sold, they will donate another to a needy child somewhere in the world… and the buyer can choose where to donate it!

when he or she arrives, aunt penny will have stomp the happy frog blanket monogrammed with the baby’s name. adorbs.

lucky penny is in awe of her sister. it is absolutely astonishing how much she can cram into 24 hours… super powers? time machine? who knows?

lucky penny has almost recovered from her halloween candy hangover, and christmas is just around the corner! she is already thinking of ways to spoil her adorable little niece.

last year, she bought her a barbie electric guitar that only plays “girls just wanna have fun”. lucky penny’s sister was less than impressed… her daughter has not stopped rockin’ it ever since.

when lucky penny heard about barbie loves joe fresh, she knew exactly what was going into her niece’s stocking. the collaboration features women’s and girls sleepwear… cozy, pink flannel pyjamas will be perfect to wear on christmas morning.

the sisters just might need a matching pair, too!
