while quote unquote window shopping in nyc, she stumbled upon a trunk show at henri bendel. much to her delight, a whole wall of dannijo beauties welcomed her.

after much hemming and hawing, lucky penny walked away with the neon pink and orange giulia bracelet. another one bites the dust. this accoutrement will perfectly complement her sinatra necklace. #putabibonit

lucky penny has a weakness for cashmere… and elbow patches.

valentine k, which debuted last fall, is a *new* luxe collection of knits. now in its second season, spring features pullovers, cardigans and hooded sweaters in a variety of colours ranging from lime punch and pink icing to ocean blue and lavender purple.

every set of patches, in leather or suede, pops in a contrasting hue or geometric pattern. “the pairing of sugary sweet colours with rustic feeling textures is unexpected. i love that by adding an accent, you take a simple sweater and turn it into something special,” says designer lauren mclachlan.

while working in retail as a buyer, she realized a need for cashmere that is well-priced and designed in canada. “valentine is my grandmother marge’s middle name (she was born on valentine’s day) and the k stands for my late grandmother, nanny kay. they are my inspiration,” she continues. “they embody such elegance and grace, and always look so put together.”
