she made a wish at the fontana de trevi, then strolled to where there are no tourist traps…  villa borghese, a gorgeous and luscious park open to the public.

like audrey hepburn in roman holiday, she rented a bike and explored for hours. there are beautiful fountains, a lake in the epicentre for rowing, a museum, and one of the best paninis ever.

next on her to-do list… piazza di spagna then window shopping along via de corso, where d&g and valentino opened their very first boutiques. heaven.

lucky penny likes to change it up. some days she feels playful, while others are edgy or coy… and with each, her closet is overflowing with all these moods to match.

alas, our girl has found the perfect solution for her piggy bank and storage space: jordana silver. these gems look like a basic black ballet flat (in calfskin or patent leather), and feature a collection of bisous (shoes clips).

feeling flirty? go for some hearts.

a little rock ‘n roll? spiked studs should do the trick.

her current fave? “22 bones” is a clip of 3 rose gold skulls like a bad a** row of knuckle dusters.

the best part? she can re-use these bisous as an adornment to any old shoe, or get creative and clip ‘em onto a necklace. options are endless, and so much more cost-effective than buying a *new* pair of shoesies for every outfit.

now that is s-m-r-t.

lucky penny has been getting her hands dirty, as of late, with all things #homereno. the 60-day countdown is quickly coming to an end (phew!), and she is in desperate need of a mani.

do cartwheels because lux spa recently opened their second location (formerly the nail shoppe)… just down the street from her soon-to-be ex-bachelorette pad, and right across from the eaton centre at 211 yonge street on the mezzanine level.

looking at paint chips or tile samples all day, and dreaming about them all night, has given her the super ability to scan a range of colours, and zone in on the best one. this *new* skill is incredibly effective since the nail bar has a plethora of colours… ranging from the palest of pinks, to the brightest of blues! opi and essie fans—welcome to your mecca.

finally recharged and with les hands et feet back in tiptop shape, it is back to the #homereno grind.

lucky penny loves to play with makeup.

when she was just a pretty young thing, she would rouge her pout with mumsy’s lipstick… and dream of the day when she would be a lady. now all grown up, our girl prefers to keep her daily makeup routine to five minutes flat. there are, of course, times when she craves a little more drama. ooh, la la.

enter clinique’s lid smoothie antioxidant 8-hour eye colour. this *new* creamy eyeshadow comes in a little tube, and packs a punch with protective antioxidants, and refreshing caffeine and cucumber extracts.

yours truly uses a small dab of #11 (currant affair) for a sheer and natural je ne sais quoi. for après sept, build on the base colour with a second or third layer, and a smudge of black eyeliner.

et voilá, knock em’ dead!

lucky penny adores being a tourist in her own city.

when a nearest and dearest was in town for a visit, she was more than delighted to show him right around… segue into segway, the two-wheeled traveler that looks nerdy but oh so fun.

jetset penny got a historical tour from chris, her segway of ontario guide, in the distillery district. bonus points for the chocolate tasting and beer sampling from mill street brew.

she may be back at month’s end for their ghost tours, but will need cute boyfriend to hold her tight if she sees an apparition. boo!
