her cousin, who is expecting her first, is also being quite stubborn and refuses to find out if lucky penny is to shop for all things pink or blue... or green?

no matter, she still managed to find the most lovely gift for the little one’s stocking this year.

happy blankie makes the plushest baby blankets around town. founded by david holdridge (when he was 7 years old), the company’s mission statement is “one to love, one to give”. so for every blanket sold, they will donate another to a needy child somewhere in the world… and the buyer can choose where to donate it!

when he or she arrives, aunt penny will have stomp the happy frog blanket monogrammed with the baby’s name. adorbs.

lucky penny, as you know, has been a fan of salty and pep for some time. while following their adventures, she recently noticed a *new* addition to the spice shakin’ duo… eggy the egg timer!

easily distracted in the kitchen, eggy has been a lifesaver for her. between watching episodes of y&r, to making sure cooper has eaten his dinner, lucky penny sometimes forgets she has things cooking on the stove… or in the oven… admittedly, in the microwave too.

thankfully, eggy is there to help time her cooking to perfection. as she whirls around the kitchen, it is all worth it seeing how much cute boyfriend appreciates a nice home-cooked meal. manners aside, he always has seconds and thirds, natch.

lucky penny spins her little heart out when stressed out… especially for a good cause!

cykl (across the street from thompson hotel) is hosting their first annual 12-hour spin on saturday, november 27th from 10am to 10pm… the goal is to raise $10,000 for the daily bread food bank holiday drive.

how it works:
pick a team of 4-6 riders
register with cykl and online
pay $75 registration fee (all proceeds donated)
raise $100 per team member; $75 is part of the total
ride 1 bike for 12 hours!

***psst…  cykl is toronto’s first realryder indoor cycling studio. unlike a traditional spinning bike, the rider can now turn, lean and steer… the closest to actually being on the road.

lucky penny often agrees with the wisdom of the muppets… sometimes, it’s not easy being green.

she loves to deck the halls, but always feels guilty as needles brown and fall to the ground. guilt no more. this holiday season, lucky penny found the perfect way to be a tree hugger… and still fill her house with the smell of spruce.

gift of green is a *new* company that will home-deliver a potted christmas tree, and pick it up after the holidays. simply select the type and size of tree (from studio apartment to penthouse), and decorate. when auld lang syne is ringing in her ears, the tree will be picked up and replanted.

trees are indigenous to ontario, and 10% of all proceeds will be donated to local environmental charities. next up: some presents under the tree! hint-hint, cute boyfriend.

lucky penny can remember the exact moment when the *blissful* honeymoon period of candlelit dinners… and an *always* spotless bathroom… was over.

she came home one day from work, and there was cute boyfriend… in his tighty-whiteys playing xbox (last year’s christmas present). lucky penny cracked a huge smile, stripped down to her skivvies, and challenged him to a game!
