lucky penny often imbibes on pink panthers, but sometimes… she wants a cold, crisp beer. how canadian.

so when she caught wind that one of her go-to brewski companies, molson rickard’s, was launching its first seasonal lager, she was intrigued. the name also makes a sartorial reference so she thought, “beer and fashion coming together? say whaaaaaat?”.

as it turns out, rickard’s cardigan has tasting notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and a hint of brown sugar. upon first sniff and sip, our girl caught herself dreaming of sitting fireside with cute boyfriend whilst swathed in a cozy sweater, er, cardigan.*wink*

lucky penny loved nursery rhymes as a tot.

this little piggy trotted her hooves wee wee wee all the waaaaay to maialino enoteca. the resto takes its moniker, translating to “little pig”, very seriously.

this little piggy started with parmigiana in vetro, a layered parmigiano mousse with roasted eggplant purée. then this little piggy got heavy duty with the costole di manzo, a slow roasted short rib, glazed in a nero d’avolo wine sauce. stuffed pig, indeed.

and this little piggy definitely could not leave without nibbling on a homemade cannoli or two… or three.

roll her over and spit her out!

lucky penny can occasionally be superstitious… it is friday the thirteenth, after all.

if a penny is found tails up, or if a black cat crosses her path, or if she walks under a ladder, bad luck will follow. but then again, life is like a deck of cards. she wins some. she loses some. our girl will never quit… until she screams uno!

uno is a one-night-only, street art show pop-up taqueria… say that 10 times fast… where she will feast on tacos, tostados and churros from la carnita… and prolly purchase pieces for the empty walls in her new home. admission is free. there will be dope tunes spinning, too.

lucky penny is a compost cookie monster.

this little piggy was not at the market, but went all the way to the momofuku milk bar in midtown manhattan.

after her dinner at má pêche (directly behind the milk bar), where she indulged on dishes like beef tartare, spring rolls, crispy pig’s head, striped bass and brussels sprouts (the most memorable of them all), she treated herself to soft served cereal milk ice cream, and chef david chang’s famous cookies.

cornflake marshmallow chocolate chip was her breakfast of champions the very next day. only if she had room for their crack pie. next time.

lucky penny keeps the doctor away with an odwalla a day.

mother nature has been terribly moody as of late… summer one day, springtime the next week. to avoid sniffles or an unwanted sore throat, our heroine treats her cells to some superfood every single morning.

imagine apple juice and purées of peach, mango, strawberry and banana. all blended with wheat grass, barley grass, wheat sprouts, and spirulina, too.

grrrrrreen goodness. go!
